Stay At Home Order Expanded In PA

Nine more Pennsylvania counties are under a Stay at Home order as officials work to contain the coronavirus.

HARRISBURG, PA — Nine more Pennsylvania counties are under a Stay at Home order as officials work to contain the coronavirus. The news comes as the state reported six additional deaths in the last day.

Berks, Butler, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Luzerne, Pike, Wayne, Westmoreland and York are now under a Stay at Home order. Gov. Tom Wolf has now instituted the order in 19 counties.

The nine additional counties will be under the order as of 8 p.m. It will continue until April 6.

Allegheny,Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Erie, Lehigh, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, and Philadelphia were already under the order.

Under the Stay at Home order, people can only leave their home for essential tasks, such as to buy food and pharmaceuticals. Learn more: Here's What You Can Do During PA's 'Stay At Home' Order

The state reported an additional 531 positive cases of the coronavirus on Friday, bringing Pennsylvania's total to 2,218 cases in 50 counties. The total number of case reported Friday was marginally less than the number of cases reported the day before. On Thursday, Pennsylvania confirmed 560 cases.

As of Friday, 22 people in Pennsylvania have died due to COVID-19.
