Ambler Native Earns All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention
Matt Johnson, an Ambler native and senior linebacker for the Muhlenberg College football team has earned an All-Centennial Conference honorable mention.

Senior linebacker MATT JOHNSON (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) of the Muhlenberg College football team earned All-Centennial Conference honorable mention.
After missing the 2011 season with an injury, Johnson returned to the field this year and finished second on the team with 82 tackles, including a 15-tackle effort against Johns Hopkins. He also had four pass breakups and grabbed a pair of interceptions. Johnson was honored as the team’s defensive MVP in games against The Apprentice School, Johns Hopkins and Juniata.

Johnson was a key to a Muhlenberg defense allowed a total of just 186 rushing yards on 131 carries in the final four games of the regular season.
Muhlenberg finished its 2012 campaign with an 8-3 record overall, its best since 2008, and a 7-2 record in the CC, good for second place in the conference behind No. 15 Johns Hopkins. The Mules received a postseason berth to play in the ECAC South Atlantic Bowl, where they fell to Delaware Valley, 24-21.
