Hidden away on the western edge of Whitpain township sits a secret summer oasis few locals even know exists. For fifty years, Whitpain Greens Swim Club has quietly offered families a respite from the summer heat.
Situated along Stony Creek on roughly five wooded acres, just off of Township Line Road, Whitpain Greens is a member owned swim club with an old school vibe and modern attitude.
The first thing that strikes you, as you turn off of Township line onto Erbs Mill Road, is just how secluded the location feels. Tucked back behind a well-established residential neighborhood, one would be forgiven for thinking the club was a private residence. As you travel further down the road to the club entrance, the wooded banks of Stony Creek sit to your left. To your right, just around a slight bend in the road up a minor incline appear the gently sloping grounds of the club. A few yards further along lies the entrance to the gravel and grass parking lot. On a typical summer day you’ll find a spot close to the entrance and since the club is limited to 300 active family memberships a season there is always enough room.
