Cops: Pocono Lake Assaulter Wanted in Whitpain on Warrant

Elizabeth Lavin, 30, of Old Route 940, allegedly assaulted a woman on Muhlenberg Drive in Whitpain Township May 28, police said. Lavin had failed to appear for a DUI case in Common Pleas court.

A Pocono Lake woman with a warrant out for her arrest in Whitpain Township was nabbed by township police and charged with simple assault, police said.

Elizabeth Lavin, 30, of the 100 block of Old Route 940, had failed to appear at Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas in April 2012 for arraignment on DUI charges from a September 2011 arrest in Whitpain Township, according to court records.

On May 28, at 7:37 p.m., police would finally find Lavin.

Police were called to the 1500 block of Muhlenberg Drive in Whitpain that night for a domestic violence report, police said.

When police arrived, officers spoke to the alleged 52-year-old female victim. Police said the alleged victim had multiple visible cuts to her body.

She told police that Lavin allegedly assaulted her during an argument, police said.

Police spoke to Lavin, who was visibly drunk and repeatedly screamed obscenities at officers, police said.

Lavin was arrested for simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment, police said.

She was arraigned by Ardmore District Judge Kathleen Valentine and was released on $7,500 unsecured bail, police said.

Lavin was then turned over to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department, police said.
