Ambler Food Co-op and Prophecy Creek Park joined together this year to hold their first annual Creek and Co-op 5K on Saturday, June 2 in Ambler. The race was held at Prophecy Creek Park, off of Skippack Pike.
During that sunny morning, over 100 runners and walkers journeyed over cross country trails, by trees and over ponds. The winner was Seth Pollins in first place, followed by David Rosenthal in second place, and John Farley in third place.
Nicole Werner, a Co-op committee organizer, was pleased with the event: “We are thrilled with the turnout of runners, volunteers and sponsors for our first Creek and Co-op 5K. The weather was perfect at Prophecy Creek Park and the partnership between The Ambler Food Co-op planning committee and Whitpain Township couldn't have been better. This race showed that local partnerships utilizing our public spaces can lead to great things in our community.”
