An accident involving a gray SUV and a utilty truck collapsed a utility pole and transformer Friday afternoon on DeKalb Pike in Whitpain Township. The accident closed DeKalb Pike between Swede Road and Yost Road, beginning at around 2 p.m. Friday and lasting through 5 p.m., according to Whitpain Township. Power was out for many customers through 5 p.m.  Centre Square Fire Co. responded to and assisted at the scene.
