East Norriton ShopRite Makes Plans to Open Restaurant
Restaurant in ShopRite will serve craft beer.

With grocery stores like Wegmans and Whole Foods adding pubs and wine focused restaurants in the supermarkets, now smaller grocery store chains are getting into the restaurant game.
ShopRite stores, with 10 locations in the Philadelphia region, including on on Germantown Pike in East Norriton, has begun the process to open a restaurant at the East Norriton store, according to a report in Philly.com.
The company has recently applied for a liquor license, however, the restaurant, which will serve craft beer, is part of a larger renovation at the supermarket and "won't open for at least a year."
