As part of Wissahickon High School Senior, Daniel Sauber's service project to acheive the rank of Eagle Scout from Boy Scout Troop 216 of Plymouth Meeting a Bike Collection Day will be on Sunday, October 23, from 12pm-4pm at Montgomery County Community College, in the parking lot immediately to the left of the Dekalb Pike (Route 202) entrance.
The New Jersey-based non-profit organization, Pedals for Progress, are the largest recyclers of used bikes in the world. In the past 20 years, Pedals for Progress has shipped over 130,000 bikes to developing countries where they are sorely needed to help stimulate economic development, provide transportation, and allow doctors to deliver their services to remote areas. All used bikes that are donated will be shipped overseas to poor communities in over 32 countries.
