The Evans-Mumbower Mill in Upper Gwynedd invites the community to enjoy ice cream and tour with the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association at the Mill this Sunday from 1-4pm.
Guests can bring a blanket to sit on and a picnic lunch, and take part in water ice, as well as ice cream and toppings on the lawn. The Mill will be open for tours then, and the water wheel will be in use. There is a fee is $3 per person; there is no charge for children under 5 years old.
After the Mill was abandoned in 1929 it was again powered by water starting in 2012, according to the Mill. Visitors can see the water pass over the wheel, hear the millstones rumble, and see cornmeal as it falls down a chute and into a barrel.
