Germantown Academy Hosts Public Track and Field Meet

For all who want to participate in track and field events, Germantown Academy will hold this year’s first installment of its summertime All-Comers Track and Field Meets on Tuesday at 5:45 p.m., in its own Carey Stadium in Fort Washington.  

The event will be held every Tuesday evening through July 16.  The proceeds will benefit the school’s athletic facilities.

The events, which are sanctioned by the national governing organization USA Track & Field, welcome all ages and feature a BSS 100 six-lane 400 meter track and jump runways, two high jump venues, two shot put circles, two long jump and triple jump pits, and two pole vault boxes.  Javelins are thrown from the grass, and both shot put and discus are thrown from concrete.
