Ambler Patch: When did you open your business?

Barberella Salon: Our original location on the corner of Forest and Main was open in Nov 2006. We recently (May) expanded and moved to 44 E. Butler Ave.

AP: Who is your ideal client or customer?

BS: Our ideal client is anyone who needs a hair cut/style, color, and skin care. We have recently added a full skin care line and people are very interested.

AP: What makes your business unique from others in your field?

BS: We pride ourselves on customer service. We give complete individual attention and make sure every client walks away feeling special. Our cozy, intimate atmosphere offers a charming experience that sets us apart from the competition. We feel that every client deserves the stylist's full attention! 

AP: What made you decide to open a business?

BS: We wanted to open something special. We find that most people don't like the cold, dark and modern experience they get at the typical upscale salon. We were tired of working in an atmosphere filled with gossip and the corporate feel. We have always wanted to work for ourselves and felt that our hometown – Ambler – would be the best place for that.

AP: What’s your most popular item?

BS: We have lots of popular serivces. Our keratin treatment, color and style rank among the top.

AP: What make’s your community special?

BS: Both my wife (Trisha Stewart) and myself (Charlie Stewart) have grown up in the Wissahickon School District. We love Ambler, our neighbors and our clients. We enjoy long walks to explore the local parks and shops. It seems that we always come home with a new adventure. Ambler's small town charm fits perfectly with our way of life. We love it!

AP: Where can customers find your specials?

BS: Our customers can find out about our specials and promotions via our website (www.barberellabeauty.com), our Facebook, newsletters, text messages, and emails. We also have someone at the shop during all our hours of operation. People like to walk in just to chat. The word gets spread.

Barberella Salon, located at 44 E.
