Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund Receives Grant to Give Air Conditioners To Ill Kids
The Ambler-based organization will use the grant to give air conditioners to children with severe health concerns.

The Ambler-based Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund (KADMF) has received a $1750 grant from the Women’s Club of Suburban Philadelphia to support the KADMF’s “Fresh Air” Program, which gives air conditioner units to children who have oppressive pulmonary, liver, kidney or heart disorders that make them particularly vulnerable when the weather is humid and hot.
According to KADMF’s Executive Director Peggy Dolan in a release, “When children at risk are subjected to the intense heat and humidity, the loss of good air quality can often lead to a crisis. The crisis could mean a trip to the ER, followed by a stay in the intensive care unit and thousands of dollars of medical costs, when a simple $150 window air conditioner would have averted the issue altogether.”
Further, when a parent accompanies his child in the hospital, he may miss work, which can reduce his income, Dolan added.

According to Dolan, they treasure the Women’s Club of Suburban Philadelphia’s partnership. The club has provided funding for the “Fresh Air” Program for the past 11 years. “It is these wonderful partnerships that enable us to help families caring for children with serious illnesses, disabilities and injuries,” she said.
KADMF gives funds to families to buy new air conditioners. For more information about KADMF, including how to donate to the “Fresh Air” Program, visit here or call (215) 643-0763.
