Lower Gwynedd Woman Helps Families Make Healthy Choices
Marissa Costonis, owner of Every Day Family Health, will be featured on 'Women to Watch' on WFYL 1180 Saturday.

With a successful career in corporate change management under her belt, Marissa Costonis, of Lower Gwynedd, has shifted careers and is utilizing the principles and methodologies used in her former profession to help area families make healthy choices as a holistic health coach.
Her new venture has earned her a spot on the “Women to Watch” radio show on WFYL 1180AM on Saturday from 3-4 p.m.
From families with picky eaters, to members with health issues, Costonis evaluates family diets and helps to enact positive change.

Costonis started on her mission to help families get healthy in 2010, when she created everydayfamilyfood.com, a blog that includes healthy recipes for families, and how to include children in cooking.
“Did your grandmother make chicken nuggets?” asks the blog, which emphasizes making one healthy, delicious family dinner, as opposed to “kids dinner” and “adult dinners.”

Costonis married her passion for healthy food and her skill set in change management in 2012 when she received Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s health-coach training, studying over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques and innovative coaching methods.
In addition to her clientele of area families, Costonis is also holding workshops – her next event is a Kids Sugar Blues Workshop on April 24, in which potential sugar addictions will be explored.
Costonis is also working on health in local businesses - she recently won a chef competition at North Hills Country Club with a meal of parchment-paper wrapped swordfish, Israeli couscous with shitake mushrooms and roasted vegetables, and is working with the business to help improve its snack bar, kids camp and healthy choices menu.
This successful new venture has earned Costonis a feature on “Women to Watch,” a radio show hosted by Susan Foley Rocco on 1180AM WFYL radio station, which profiles woman who own, operate, or have founded a company or organization.
