Malvern School Locations Stage Alex's Lemonade Day Wednesday
Beat the sweltering summer heat and help support Alex's Lemonade Stand Wednesday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Malvern School locations in Montgomery County and around the Philadelphia region will host the preschool chain's annual Alex's Lemonade Stand day on Wednesday.
The private school will have Lemonade stands set up from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at 20 of its school locations around the Philadelphia region, including The Malvern School of Horsham at 101 Lower State Road in Ambler. This will be the sixth year the Malvern School's are taking a day to raise money for the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. The foundation was establish by Alex Scott's family to honor her memory and to fight pediatric cancer.
Each Malvern School location will feature a decorated “Alex’s Lemonade Stand” and sell fresh lemonade or paper lemons to the general public to raise funds and awareness. So far Malvern Schools say they have raised $180,000 to date for the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. The schools are hoping to raise $75,000 at this year drive.
According to information provided by the Malvern School, since Alex Scott's death in 2004 at age 4 The Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has raised more than $60 million towards fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 300 research projects nationally.
