Man Attempts to Steal Money from Church Poor Box, Police Say

Theft, fraud, and public drunkenness top Ambler Police Reports.

Public Drunkenness

Robert B. Croston, 65 years of age, of the 200 block of Mattison Avenue was arrested and cited on March 16 for public Drunkenness after police observed him unsteady on his feet while standing in the street yelling and harassing a group of people. When officers approached Croston he became combative at which time he was placed under arrest, transported to the station and housed until sober. Croston was then cited and released.

An employee at a church in the 300 block of Forest Avenue reported on March 20, a white male in his early 40s attempting to steal money from the poor box, however, he was unsuccessful. The male fled in a green Chevrolet. Investigation is ongoing.

A resident in the 200 block of Fulling Mill Lane reported on March 20, fraudulent charges made on his Visa Credit Card. Unknown of how much was charged on the card and the investigation is ongoing.

Theft

A resident in the unit block of E. Butler Avenue reported on March 23, that while unloading his vehicle of band equipment actor(s) stole his 1990 Fender BX80 Amplifier. The Amplifier is valued at $600.00.
