Memories of Cardinal Foley

Cardinal John Foley passed earlier this month and local political blogger Joe the Nerd remembers how the Philly-area native touched his life.

Cardinal John Foley, Upper Darby native and longtime voice of the Vatican's Christmas midnight Mass, died earlier this month after fighting a losing battle with Leukemia. The 76-year-old passed on Sunday, Dec. 11, at the Villa St. Joseph in Upper Darby.

While many media outlets covered Foley's funeral and reported on his lifetime of achievement (see NBC's coverage here), local political blogger had a much more personal memory of the beloved Cardinal.

Read Joe's tale of a honeymoon miracle performed year's earlier by the late priest here.
