Ambler Patch: When did you open your business?

IM=X Pilates Blue Bell: I bought out the previous owner, my boss, in January 2008.

AP: Who is your ideal client or customer?

IM=X: We can train anybody who can climb the stairs to our second-floor studio, but our ideal members are committed to their health and fitness, visit the studio 2-3 times per week, and give each class their all.

AP: What makes your business unique from others in your field?

IM=X: We are a boutique-style pilates studio that specializes in reformer-based pilates. This means that our teachers are specifically and well-trained on the pilates equipment to provide top quality classes. IMX Pilates is a franchise, so there is an underlying consistency to our high level of training as well. Classes are kept to a minimum of 6 students total, so that each member receives plenty of personalized instruction and attention.

AP: What made you decide to open a business?

IM=X: I was already teaching pilates when my boss decided to move, and it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. I still have members that joined even before I did!

AP: What’s your most popular item?

IM=X: Initially, the Free Introductory Session! It's free for everyone, if you've never done pilates or IMX Pilates before. After that, for new members, it's the One Month Unlimited Trial Membership, which allows you to take as many classes as you can in a month and see how it feels and how it fits into your life.  For renewing members, it's the 12 Month Unlimited Membership- it offers the same unlimited classes per month at the best price.

AP: What makes your community special?

IM=X: Blue Bell is geographically scattered, the neighborhoods and developments aren't really connected or walkable, and that attracts all sorts of different people to this area for different reasons. This diversity is reflected in our members, and yet everyone here is just "good people." Our members are very welcoming and inclusive and encouraging to newbies and to each other, and that has created a wonderful, warm community within our walls.

AP: Where can customers find your specials?

IM=X: Online or at the studio. We also send out an email newsletter about once a month.

AP: What are your hours, website, Facebook page, etc.?

IM=X: The class schedule is available online- visit www.imxbluebell.com and click on "semi-private sessions". We have classes all day Monday through Friday, from 9am until as late as 730pm, Saturday mornings, and some Sundays.
