Philly Man Steals $246 in Alcohol From Whitpain Liquor Store: Cops

Terrence Alexander, 51, of Philadelphia, was jailed with $5,000 bail, police said. He was taken in on a detainer from Delaware County Office of Probation and Parole.

Whitpain Township Police said Terrence Alexander, 51, of the 400 block of E. Rittenhouse St., Philadelphia, allegedly robbed nearly $296 in liquor from a State liquor store in Whitpain over a two-week period.

Alexander allegedly pulled a $149 bottle of Remy Martin XO Fire champagne cognac from his pant leg, when employees at the Pennsylvania Wine and Spirits at 1301 Skippack Pike tried to stop the alleged theft, police said.

The store discovered Alexander was also allegedly responsible for the theft of multiple bottles of alcohol on July 18, police said.

Alexander was detained and arrested at 4:38 p.m. July 31 at the Sunoco Gas Station at DeKalb Pike and Skippack Pike, police said. Alexander matched a description of a black male, wearing a tan shirt and black pants, police said.

Police said the total value of both thefts was $245.99.

Alexander was arraigned by District Justice Robert Sobeck, and bail was set at $5,000. He was taken to Montgomery County Correctional Facility on a Detainer from Delaware County Office of Probation and Parole, police said.
