Police: Whitpain Man Drags Woman Down Street, Fractures Her Leg
Nicholas Savine, 24, of Sylvan Drive, faces a felony aggravated assault charge and more, police said.

A Whitpain man allegedly assaulted and dragged a woman down Sylvan Drive and fractured her leg, Whitpain Township Police said.
Nicholas Savine, 24, of the 1500 block of Sylvan Drive, was arrested May 9 and charged with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault, misdemeanor resisting arrest, misdemeanor disorderly conduct and harassment, according to court records.
Savine remains incarcerated at Montgomery County prison on $2,500 cash bail, according to court records.

A preliminary hearing is set for June 20 at 9:30 a.m. before District Judge Robert Sobeck.
Police said officers were dispatched to Sylvan Drive at 4:08 a.m. May 9 for a report of a man who had a woman on the ground and was allegedly kicking her and dragging her down the street.

When police arrived, the alleged victim was lying in the middle of the street, with a group of people standing around her, police said.
Police said Savine allegedly began to fight with officers as he was being arrested, yelling he was not going anywhere. Police said Savine was kicking and fighting, trying to get away.
Savine was eventually taken into custody, police said.
The alleged victim was taken to Einstein Hospital to be treated for a fractured leg, police said.
Savine is currently on trial in Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas on a misdemeanor charge of a false alarm to an agency of public safety, from a December 2012 arrest in East Norriton, according to court records.
