SEPTA Retains Service on Bus Routes 94, 132

After two hearings were held in September regarding two SEPTA bus routes, one that services the Montgomery Mall and one that services Montgomery County Community College, SEPTA has announced that "service will be preserved on both routes, albeit with some changes that will be implemented on Feb. 17," according to a report in The Reporter.

According to the press release from SEPTA, SEPTA re-evaluated the proposal and the new "plan retain trips that serve the needs of the evening shift workers and Community College students."

SEPTA expects that passengers should see minimal or no change in their service, however, the most change in the schedule is on Sundays when bus frequencies are limited at times of lower ridership.

For bus route 94, which services the Montgomery Mall and Montgomery County Community College, the late night trips will continue, allowing mall employees and students to catch the late bus. However, some evening trips are being modified "for more efficient use of SEPTA buses and financial resources," according to the release.

Sunday service will be scaled back to reflect the retail stores opening and closing times, with limited midday service.

For bus route 132, which services the Montgomery Mall and the Indian Valley,, it will similarly  retain its late night trips and the Sunday service will be modified to reflect retail opening and closing times with limited service midday.

However, Saturday morning trips will also be adjusted and some evening trips are being adjusted.

The new schedules go into effect on Feb. 17 and the new schedules can be found at www.septa.org beginning on Feb. 13.
