The Perky League’s Skippack Wranglers crushed the Ambler Rebels in their home field on Tuesday, leading off with a strong showing in the first inning, according to The Reporter.
Within six innings Skippack’s starting pitcher Anthony Civitello bested Ambler as Skippack won 9-1 at Ambler’s Skip Wilson Field on the Temple University Ambler campus.
“Beginning of the year, everyone was struggling at the plate, but now everyone’s coming to it,” the Wranglers catcher Matt Albaugh said. “We’re swinging the bats well and our pitching’s been solid all year, so it’s helping us out.”

“The key is you got to get on top and stay on top,” said Wranglers manager and designated hitter Jeff Murtha. “The thing I like, we scored those runs and we didn’t stop from there. We kept scoring runs every single inning, which is very important.”
Thick rains delayed the top of the fourth inning. The game was called after six in the evening because of darkness.

“If we started another inning the way it is, we probably wouldn’t finish it,” said Murtha.
