15-year-old Stephen Cerbara, of Langhorne, was the victor of the Christman Cup at Talamore Country Club in Ambler on Tuesday, July 16, according to the Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP).
The Christman Cup, here presented by Global Golf Post, is named after J. Fred Christman, a former Director of Competitions for the GAP. The cup is a 36-hole stroke play competition.
Cerbara, an incoming sophomore at Holy Ghost Preparatory School, and a member of The GAP Junior Players Club, entered the cup as a beginner. He carded a 5 under 137 in total to win the cup’s 14th edition, par 71, 6,364 yards.

“This is a really big win for me,” said Cerbara. “I’m really excited and proud. It means a lot. My caddie (Chris Kehrer) helped me throughout the day, reading putts and doing all the things a good caddie does. Without him, I may not even be in the tournament. I’m really grateful for him.”
Next, Cerbara will compete in the Trusted Choice Big “I” National Championship at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst, North Carolina during August 5-8.
