Whitpain Police Reports: Blue Bell Man Arrest for DUI and Traffic Offenses

DUI - On Jan 6^th at 2:30 am, Dennis McNamara, 43 yrs old of the 700 block of Corner Ketch Rd in Downingtown was taken to Mercy Suburban Hospital for blood after an officer stopped him for speeding on Dekalb Pk. During the stop Mr McNamara was also found in possession of a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia. Charges including DUI, Possession of marijuana, Paraphernalia and Traffic violations will be filed upon receipt of blood results.

Liquor Law Violation - On Jan 4^th at 12:41 am, an officer noticed a suspicious Honda in the rear parking lot of the Wawa, 1015 Dekalb Pk and noticed that one of the occupants appeared sick.  While checking the three occupants it was apparent that the front seat passenger, identified as Stefan Delconte, 18 yrs old of the 300 block of Llewellyn Rd in Ambler was intoxicated. During the investigation officers also located a small amount of marijuana. Mr Delconte was arrested for Underage Drinking and Disorderly Conduct for possession of a small amount of marijuana and the driver, Peter Carrozza, 18 yrs old of the 100 block of Beaumont Pl in Ambler was arrested for Disorderly Conduct for also possessing a small amount of marijuana.

Public Drunkenness - On Jan 5^th at 2:02 am, police were called to P. J. Whelihan’s, 799 Dekalb Pk for a report of a disturbance. When police arrived, they located two subjects that advised they were only fooling around. Both subjects were intoxicated and were waiting for a taxi. Approximately 20 minutes after the initial call, one of the subjects, Nicholas Wilde, 25 yrs old of the 200 block of Buttonwood St in Norristown, was seen urinating along Dekalb Pk at the entrance to Village Square Shopping Center. He was arrested for Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct and later released.

Disorderly Conduct - On Jan 6^th at 11:40 pm Ronnie Martinez, 23 yrs old of the 6400 block of Oxford Ave in Philadelphia was arrested for Disorderly Conduct after he was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana. The marijuana was found during a car stop in the parking lot of the Wawa, 1015 Dekalb Pk and he was also issued a citation for the window tint violation.

DUI Accident - On Jan 1^st at 7:14 pm, officers responded to 1920 Skippack Pk for a two car crash. Police met with the driver of a gray Hyundai which had front end damage. He advised that he was stopped on westbound Skippack Pk at North Wales Rd for a red light. While there a silver Subaru made a wide turn from northbound North Wales Rd onto eastbound Skippack Pk and struck the front of the Hyundai. The Subaru drove away from the crash scene but was followed by the other driver until it stopped in the entranceway of 1920 Skippack Pk. During the investigation it was apparent that the driver of the Subaru, Risa Gitman, 50 yrs old of the 1700 block of Whitpain Hills Dr, was intoxicated. She was taken to Mercy Suburban for blood and charges including DUI and traffic offenses will be filed once the blood results return.

Underage Drinking - Gene Pak, 20 yrs old of the 1100 block of Valley Glen Rd in Elkins Park was arrested for Underage Drinking during a car stop on Skippack Pk at Wentz Rd on Jan 2^nd at 1:13 am. Officers stopped a silver Toyota for a traffic violation and during the stop saw an open bottle of alcohol in the car. He was released to another driver at the scene.
