Whitpain Police Reports: Blue Bell Resident Reports Work-at-Home Job Scam

Police incident reports from Whitpain Township Police.

Retail Theft - On October 8th at approximately 4:50pm police responded to Kohl’s Department Store, 1301 Skippack Pk., for a report of a retail theft with a female in custody.  Janice Lee 22 yrs old of the 200 block of 200 block of Susan Dr., Elkins Park, PA was placed under arrest for retail theft of merchandise totaling $230.00. Lee is being charged with misdemeanor Retail Theft.

Fraud - On October 8th at police responded to Normandy Farms Estates for a reported fraud. Police met with the victim who stated that fraudulent transactions were made by a female, from her checking account over the last month totaling over $1,500.00. Police are investigating this theft.

Possession with Intent to Deliver - On October 14th at approximately 10:42 pm, police stopped a gold Oldsmobile on Dekalb Pike at Michael’s Lane. Officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana and saw smoke coming from the windows. The driver was identified as Nicholas Curotto, 20 yrs old, of the 1000 block of Twining Rd in Dresher. The passenger was identified as Liam Stewart, 21 yrs old, of the 400 block of Ambler Rd in Fort Washington.  Officers located marijuana and paraphernalia during the stop. Both Curotto and Stewart were charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Paraphernalia. They were arraigned by District Justice Robert Sobeck and bail was set at $5,000/unsecured. Both were taken to Montgomery County Correctional Facility on detainers from Montgomery County Adult Probation.

DUI - On October 11th at approximately 11:00 pm, police observed a black Volvo SUV driving at about 20 MPH and swerving out of the west bound lane of Township Line Rd. Police stopped the vehicle at Arlington Rd and identified the driver as Colleen Stack-Stratton, 44 yrs old of the 400 block of E. Township Line Rd. Norristown.  Ms Stack-Stratton appeared intoxicated and refused any testing. Ms Stack-Stratton was later released to a family member. She is being charged with DUI and other traffic offenses.

DUI - On October 12th at approximately 8:54 pm an officer observed a green Jeep traveling east in the west bound lane of the 300 block of Maple Avenue near Oak Street.  The vehicle turned onto Oak Street pulled off to the side of the road. Police checked the registration and found it was under suspension.

Police identified the driver as Robert Lowe, Jr. 50 yrs of the 300 block of Maple Ave., Ambler.  Police observed a marijuana roach in Lowe’s shirt pocket and he appeared intoxicated. Mr. Lowe refused to exit his vehicle and resisted police.

Once Lowe was taken from his vehicle, he was unable to stand on his own. Lowe continued to be uncooperative with police. He was taken to Mercy Suburban for blood. Lowe attempted to put two small pills into his mouth while in custody, but was stopped by police. He is charged with DUI, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and numerous traffic violations. Robert Lowe was arraigned by District Justice Deborah Lukens and bail was set at $5,000.00/unsecured.

Domestic Violence - On October 13th at approximately 3:29 am police responded to a 911 call at the 1900 block of Cherrie Circle for a reported domestic in progress. Upon arrival, the police met with the victim who stated that she had gotten into a verbal altercation that became physical with Patrick Williams 32 yrs of the 1900 block of Cherrie Circle. During the altercation, the victim sustained injuries after being pushed down the stairs. The victim did not want medical treatment. Mr. Williams was arrested for Domestic Violence. Williams was arraigned by District Justice Deborah Lukens and bail was set at $10,000.00 cash. Williams was also found to be on probation which he had violated. Williams was remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

Identity Theft - On October 11th at 2:44 pm Maurice Watson 42 yrs of the 200 block of Gilford Road, Lansdowne turned himself in on an active Whitpain Township felony warrant for Identity Theft. Charges were filed against Mr. Watson after he took credit card and driver’s license information from a Blue Bell resident and used it to purchase $752.98 worth of supplies at an MAB Paint Store in Upper Darby. Watson was transported to district court and arraigned in front of Judge Sobeck. Bail was set at $5,000.00/unsecured.

Warrant Service - On October 12th at approximately 11:30 am police arrested Tracey Ann Concannon 25 yrs old at her residence in the 400 block of Columbia Ave. in Lansdale. She was arrested on a warrant for Forgery, Access Device Fraud, Theft and Receiving Stolen Property, stemming from a theft from Kraut Harris Law Firm, 1767 Sentry Parkway that was reported in in August. Concannon was transported to district court and arraigned in front of Judge Sobeck who set bail at $2,000.00 unsecured.

Disorderly Conduct - On October 12th at approximately 11:26 pm police checked a pedestrian and a vehicle in the 2000 block of Whitpain Hills Dr. Police identified the driver as Nicole Angstadt 23 yrs old of the 2100 block of North Line Street, Lansdale and the passenger was identified as Jennifer Deoliveira 24 yrs old of the 100 block of Ardwick Terrace, Lansdale. Angstadt and Deoliveira turned over a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Angstadt and Deoliveira were cited for Disorderly Conduct and released.

Fraud - On October 13th at approximately 2:10 pm police met with a Blue Bell resident who reported he had been looking for employment online when he came across a job opportunity with a company named AEG Network. The contact for the network was David Booh and an arrangement was made for the victim to receive checks from Booh and deposit them into his checking account.  The checks totaled $2,250.00 and the victim waited until they cleared. After confirming with his bank that the checks were cleared, the victim sent the money through Western Union to a woman in Georgia named Elizabeth Waller in the amount of $2,161.00.

The victim was later notified by his bank that the checks were fraudulent and that he would be responsible for the money that was withdrawn.  The name of the company the victim received the checks from was BFS Logistics 2272 Colorado Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90041.
