Whitpain Police Reports: Police Looking for Black Male Driving Silver BMW
Police incident reports from Whitpain Township Police Department.

Retail Theft - On Nov 8th at 1:54 hrs, officers responded to Kohl’s Department Store, 1301 Skippack Pk where Barbara Lederman, 54 yrs old of the 300 block of Evans Ave in Willow Grove was in custody for attempting to steal $369.98 worth of merchandise. Kohl’s Loss Prevention Officer reported that Ms Lederman used a pair of scissors that she had in her purse to remove the tags from the merchandise. She is being charged with Retail Theft, Possessing an instrument of Crime, and Receiving Stolen Property.
Warrant Service - On Nov 18th at 2:25 am., police were called to the 1100 block of Whitpain Hills for a report of a fight involving several males. During the investigation it was discovered that there was an active warrant out of Harford County in Maryland for the resident of that address, 25 yr old Evan O’Toole. Mr O’Toole was taken into custody and arraigned by District Justice Zucker. Bail was set at $25,000/cash and he was transported to Montgomery County Correctional Facility to await extradition to Maryland.
DUI - On Nov 16th at 11:34 pm, officers responded to a car crash on Penllyn Pk at Phipps Way. The driver of a silver Porsche was struck in the rear by red Lincoln. The driver of the Lincoln stated the Porsche was driving erratically and when he looked down for a second and looked back up, the Porsche had stopped suddenly and he was unable to avoid striking that vehicle in the rear. The driver of the Porsche was identified as Inyoung Chung, 39 yrs old of the 200 block of Tulip Tree Ct and as officers spoke to him it appeared he was intoxicated. He was taken to Mercy Suburban Hospital and charges including DUI will be filed upon receipt of the blood results.

Retail Theft - On Nov 16th at 8:09 pm Kelly Corrigan, 37 yrs old of the 300 block of Middleton Pl in Norristown was arrested for Retail Theft at Kohl’s Department Store, 1301 Skippack Pk. Loss Prevention Officers reported that they observed Ms Corrigan conceal $551.00 worth of merchandise and then try and leave the store without paying. She is being charged with Retail Theft and Receiving Stolen Property.
Assault - On Nov 14th at 6:06 pm, police were called to the U.S. Gas Station for a report of a domestic. Police interviewed the victim and she reported that she was driving her car north on Dekalb Pk when she got into an argument with her husband. He struck her on the right cheek and shoulder. She pulled into the gas station parking lot to call for help. Mieczyslaw Zwolinski, 60 yrs old of the 800 block of Walnut St in Lansdale was arrested for Simple Assault, Public Drunkenness and Harassment. He was arraigned by District Justice Bernhardt and released on $5,000/unsecured bail.

DUI - On Nov 12, at 2:42 am, an officer was following a red Volkswagen west bound on Township Line Rd and watched as it traveled into the oncoming lane. The officer stopped the car near North Wales Rd and when speaking to the driver, noticed the smell of alcohol. The driver, James Newton, 45 yrs old of the 100 block of Hoover Ave in Norristown appeared intoxicated and was taken to Mercy Suburban for blood. Charges including traffic violations and DUI will be filed once blood results are received.
Attempted Theft - On Nov 15th at 2:03 pm, a female in the 500 block of Penllyn Pk advised she was inside her home when the garage sensor alarm sounded. She reported that she went to her garage and discovered a black male holding her air compressor. She described him as being approximately 5’7” tall, thin build wearing a dark sweatshirt with white lettering on the front. He had a thin mustache, short hair and a gap between his front teeth. When he saw her he told her he was supposed to pick up a compressor from someone and was at the wrong house. He left in a silver smaller model BMW with a red air freshner hanging from the rearview mirror. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Whitpain Township Detective Division.
