Whitpain Police Reports: Retail Theft Arrest, DUI Accident, Identity Theft
Police incident reports from Whitpain Police Department.

Identity Theft - On June 4th a Whitpain Township detective met with a township resident that had been the victim of Identity Theft. She reported that some of her current credit cards were compromised and new credit accounts were opened using her personal information. On June 5th the victim received a call from a detective from the Dover City Police Department in Delaware who advised that they had arrested a Monica Holloway, 35 yrs old of the 100 block of Englewood Rd in Upper Darby, while making purchases with credit cards issued to the victim. After a lengthy investigation, it was determined that Holloway used the victim’s identity in seventeen stores across PA, New Jersey and New York, totaling in the tens of thousands of dollars to date. A warrant was issues for Holloway charging her with seventeen counts each of Identity Theft, Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Forgery and Access Device Fraud. All felony charges. On August 20th Monica Holloway turned herself in and District Justice Robert Sobeck set bail at $2,500/unsecured.
Warrant Service - On August 20th at 9:47 am, police received information that Joshua Yespy, 34 yrs old of the 300 block of W. 5th St in Lansdale was in the area of the and that there was an active Montgomery County Warrant for him. and arrived and he was taken into custody. He was later released to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.
Retail Theft - On August 13th at 10:20 pm, police were called to to meet with a Loss Prevention Officer regarding a theft that occurred earlier in the day. She reported that she received information from the Royersford Kohl’s that Limerick Police arrested John Sim, 26 yrs old of the 200 block of Ebelhare Rd in Pottstown and Abigale Luft, 23 yrs old of the 2000 block of Kepler Rd in Pottstown for theft. During their investigation, it was determined that some of the jewelry that Sim and Luft had in their possession was from the Blue Bell Kohls. The value of the jewelry was $1,020.00. Felony Retail Theft charges have been filed and both actors are in Montgomery County Correctional Facility on detainers from Chester County Adult Probation.

DUI Accident - On August 17th at 1:50 am, police responded to the 1700 block of Clearview Ave for a vehicle crash. Officers found a blue Honda on the lawn at 1701 Clearview Ave and damage to the front lawn and curb. The driver of the vehicle, Justin Lee, 23 yrs old of the 1500 block of Clearview Ave was located with the car. During the crash investigation, officers determined that Mr. Lee was impaired by alcohol and he was taken to Mercy Suburban for blood. Charges including DUI will be filed upon receipt of blood results.
Warrant Service - On August 20th at 2:22 am, an officer on patrol noticed a female walking near Oak St and the alley. When she saw the officer she walked away and pretended to knock on a door. When the officer asked who she was, she initially provided her name as Diane Brown. When the officer asked again, she admitted her name was Lauren Brown, 50 yrs old of the 100 block of Locust St in Ambler. The officer was informed that there was a Montgomery County warrant for Ms Brown for a Probation violation. She was taken into custody and later released to Montgomery County Sheriffs Department.
