Whitpain Supervisors Will Consider Stop Signs at Two Intersections

Stop signs are being considered for Yost Rd. at Cortez Rd. and Wentz Rd. at Plowshare Rd./Cherry Lane.

From Whitpain Township:

The Whitpain Township Board of Supervisors will consider an ordinance amendment that calls for stop signs to be placed at two intersections in the township.

Under the ordinance, stop signs would be coated at Yost Rd., at the intersection with Cortez Rd. Eastbound and westbound traffic on Yost Rd. would have to stop at Cortez Rd., while traffic entering Yost Rd. from Cortez Rd. would continue to have a stop sign.

Sophie Auerbach, a local Girl Scout, first raised a concern about the intersection. A traffic study was then conducted and found that a stop sign is warranted.

Stop signs are also proposed on Wentz Rd. at the intersection of Plowshare/Cherry Lane. Northbound and southbound traffic on Wentz Rd. would have to stop at the intersection and traffic entering from Plowshare Rd. and Cherry Lane would continue to have to stop, as it does today.
