Whitpain Township: Supervisors To Consider Ordinance For EIT Referendum

At its meeting on January 18, the Board of Supervisors will consider enacting an ordinance that would place a referendum on an increase to the current Earned Income Tax (EIT) on the May 17, 2022 election ballot. If approved by voters, the increase would be 0.06% and would not go into effect until 2023.  

The additional EIT revenue would be used to help pay down debt from open space acquisition and for open space maintenance. The proposed increase would add $40 to the typical person’s EIT payment.
