Whitpain Township's Road Resurfacing Program in Third and Final Phase

Whitpain township began the third and final phase of their 2013 road resurfacing program on Tuesday, which is an extension of their 2012 resurfacing program.

The six-day phase will commence on July 23 with the resurfacing of Hickory Road, Kurt Road, and Second Road.  In 2013 Whitpain will have resurfaced over 10 miles of roads, said Ronald Cione, director of the Public Works department.

The second phase was completed last week, using an environmentally-friendly technique.  Once the workers finish during the next week, the township will start preparing next year’s roads next month.

“I would be hard-pressed to find a pothole on a single township road,” said Whitpain treasurer Frederick R. Conner, Jr., at the July 16 Board of Supervisors meeting.
