Wissahickon Sends Off 367 Graduates to the Future
Wissahickon High School Class of 2013 graduated Friday night, due to the postponement from Thursday's rain storms.
Wissahickon High School had nothing but a warm breeze and clear skies Friday night as 367 graduates took a new path into the future.
Salutatorian Cora Anne Dimmig had a soundtrack to her speech of “Seasons of Love” from the “Rent” musical, courtesy of the school band.
Dimmig told her classmates to set their tempo, hold their batons and “own their futures and their own time.”

Valedictorians Allison Peng and Charlie Zhang recounted the many experiences their class shared together, including the Adventure Aquarium senior prom.
Zhang said learning doesn’t end with graduation.

“Just because you have a high school diploma doesn’t mean you already know how to live life,” he said.
Using a driving theme, Zhang told his classmates there would be many highways of life, and life offers no direction for them.
“Appreciate the opportunities presented to you,” he said. “Reflect in your car mirror on what has happened. Never forget where you came from.”
