Sluganski, a McKeesport police officer, died in February after he and officer Charles Thomas were dispatched to a domestic-related disturbance all related to a man acting aggressively toward family members.

The pair encountered Jonathan Morris, 31, on Grandview Avenue in McKeesport and a gunfire exchange ensued. Sluganski, 32, was killed; Williams and Morris were injured. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against Morris.
