Man Tried To Set Pittsburgh-Area Restaurant Ablaze: Police
Police have accused a man of attempting to set a Pittsburgh-area restaurant on fire.
PITTSBURGH, PA — A man is in custody after allegedly attempting to set fire to a Pittsburgh-area eatery early Tuesday.
Police were called to Hook Fish and Chicken on Loews Drive in North Versailles at around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday. WPXI-TV reported that upon arriving, they found four people holding a man on the ground.
According to WTAE-TV, the building's owner was on the scene and told police that the suspect, Brian Bowyer, 32, of Monroeville, was carrying a gas can and threw something through the door. He began pouring gasoline all over the eatery until the owner and other employees were able to restrain him.

Online court documents indicate that Bowyer is facing numerous charges that include burglary, arson-endangering property, arson-possession of explosive or incendiary material, possessing instruments of crime, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
Bowyer faces a preliminary hearing on Jan. 8.
