UPDATES: Baldwin Police Looking for Stabbing Suspect

IMPORTANT UPDATE (Oct. 15): Baldwin Stabbing Case Takes Very Strange Turn—Away from Baldwin

Baldwin Borough police are looking for a man known as either "Fats" or "Pat." The man is a suspect wanted for questioning for his involvement in a stabbing incident outside of a bar on Prospect Road early on Tuesday morning, Baldwin police Chief Michael Scott said.

Scott said that Baldwin police learned of the stabbing shortly before 2 a.m. when an Allegheny County police dispatcher relayed that information to them via workers at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh's Oakland area.

The victim, a Whitehall Borough resident, claims to have been stabbed shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Scott said, when he and his girlfriend left Hog's Bar & Grill—where the Prospect Inn was formerly located.

"(The victim's) girlfriend I guess got into an argument with (the attacker) in the bar," Scott said. "Over what? We don't know."

After being confronted by his attacker and one other male and allegedly stabbed, the victim got into his vehicle with his girlfriend and drove toward a relative's house in Brentwood Borough while bleeding from his torso, Scott said.

Then, after his girlfriend convinced him to visit a hospital, he drove to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Jefferson Hills Borough before being airlifted to UPMC Presbyterian for more treatment.

Baldwin police originally believed that the alleged attacker, who may be from the Lincoln Place-West Mifflin Borough area, was nicknamed "Fats." But, Scott said, upon further review, "Fats," who is believed to be 27 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 300 pounds, may actually be named "Pat."

The victim has been released from the hospital.
