East Carson Street Closed This Weekend in Baldwin

Stretch from the Glenwood Bridge to Becks Run Road is affected.

Noralco Corporation crews will be removing a water pump building along East Carson Street in north Baldwin Borough this weekend, April 19-22, weather permitting, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The work will require East Carson to be closed between Becks Run Road in north Baldwin and the Glenwood Bridge in Pittsburgh's Hays neighborhood from approximately 10 p.m. on Friday through approximately 5 a.m. on Monday.

Becks Run will remain open.

Southeastbound

  • Make left onto Hot Metal Street and cross Hot Metal Bridge
  • Make right onto Route 885 (Second Avenue)
  • Continue southeast onto the Glenwood Bridge
  • Take the Glenwood Bridge south
  • Exit at Glass Run Road and turn left
  • Access Route 837/East Carson Street

Northwestbound

  • Same detour in opposite direction

More than 14,000 vehicles use this stretch of East Carson on an average day, according to PennDOT. Motorists should use caution, allow extra time and be aware of changing traffic patterns in the area.
