Final Snow Totals In Baldwin, Whitehall Areas: How Much Fell?

Wednesday brought the largest winter storm in some time to southwestern Pennsylvania. Find out here how much snowfall occurred.

BALDWIN AND WHITEHALL, PA — The Baldwin and Whitehall areas received around 10 inches of snow during the storm Wednesday - one of the largest December snowfall accumulations in the area ever, according to the National Weather Service.

Officially, Pittsburgh received 9.3 inches of at Pittsburgh International Airport, where formal weather information is gathered. It was the fifth-largest December snowfall recorded since records began being kept in the 1800s:

Other parts of Allegheny County, including Baldwin and Whitehall, the actual snowfall total was greater than the official one, according to observers who reported the snow depth to the weather service.
