Get Rid Of Hard-To-Recycle Items At Collections Coming Up Around Allegheny County

Three "hard-to-recycle" events are coming up, if you need to get rid of computers, TVs, tires, or other items. July 23 is the next one.

ALLEGHENY CO., PA — If you have televisions, computer monitors, cell phones, tires, and other hard-to-recycle materials, there's still time to register for one of three collection events in Allegheny County.

There is no fee to recycle phones, tablets, microwaves, video game consoles, packaging material, glass bottles and jugs, and a variety of other materials.

There are fees for some larger items, like printers, fluorescent tubes, hard drives, and computer monitors or TVs. Batteries; CFL lightbulbs; and media like CDs, DVDs, and tapes are not accepted at 2022 events.

Here is the list of upcoming events:

  • July 23 – Quaker Valley High School, 652 Beaver Street, Leetsdale PA 15056
  • July 30 – Next Tier Connect @ Pittsburgh East, 4350 Northern Pike, Monroeville PA 15146
  • October 1 – Settlers Cabin Park Wave Pool, 635 Ridge Road, Pittsburgh PA 15205

All events are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and advance registration is required. The collection is sponsored by Pennsylvania Research Council. PRC accepts all forms of payment.

Someone will be on-hand to help load items outside the vehicle. PRC asks that people put the recyclable items in their car trunk or truck bed.
