PHOTOS: Are You 'Raising the Jolly Roger' in Baldwin-Whitehall?

In the middle of a bona fide pennant race, we're seeing quite a few skull-and-crossbones flags around the district. Show us your colors here!

As someone who cried himself to sleep as a 9-year-old after watching Sid Bream send the Pittsburgh Pirates on to 19 straight years of losing, seeing my beloved Buccos in the thick of a pennant race in 2012 feels like a dream.

And I've been celebrating in a truly "Pirates" way.

I—like many of my Baldwin-Whitehall neighbors, apparently—have been "raising the Jolly Roger" after each and every Pirates win this season, taking a victory call by Pirates announcer Greg Brown to heart.

I know that I'm not the only one hoisting skull-and-crossbones flags in , or , because I've seen those babies all around our district.

To get the ball rolling here, I've uploaded a picture of me "raising the Jolly Roger" earlier this season at my home in south Baldwin. (As my wife asked then, "Have you ever looked happier?")

Show us your Pirates flags—non-Jolly Rogers are OK, too—by clicking on "Upload Photos and Videos" above. In the photo caption, tell us in which municipality that your flag is. (Flags from Brentwood and Pleasant Hills boroughs—and anywhere nearby—are cool with us, too.)
