Baldwin-Whitehall School Custodian Facing Child Porn Charges
A Pittsburgh-area school district custodian is accused of having thousands of kiddie porn images and videos stored on his devices.
WHITEHALL, PA — A Baldwin-Whitehall School District custodian has been arrested on child pornography charges.
Michael Siar, 55, is charged with 22 counts of child pornography possession and three counts of criminal use of communication facility, of court records.
According to the Whitehall Police Department, Siar was immediately placed on administrative leave the day the search warrant was executed. He had no access to Baldwin–Whitehall school facilities during this investigation. Whitehall Police and assisting federal partners do not believe any of the images or videos found on Siar’s personal electronic devices were connected to his employment with the district.

This investigation started on April 23, 2025, when the Whitehall Police Department learned the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received 13 cyber tips identifying Michael Siar as a person who may possess child sexual abuse material.
Whitehall Police Investigators, with the assistance from the FBI Greater Pittsburgh Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force and United States Secret Service, executed a search warrant at Siar’s residence in May. During this search, investigators seized several electronic devices containing multiple images of child sexual abuse material which led to additional search warrants.

Thousands of images and videos of young children engaged in various sexual acts were found on the seized devices during a 4-month forensic examination led by the United States Secret Service and Whitehall police Investigators.
Whitehall police said the investigation into Silar began with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received more than a dozen tips, WPXI-TV reported.
According to WTAE-TV, authorities said they found thousands of images and videos on different devices of young children engaged in various sexual acts. Police don't think any of the images or videos found on Siar's electronic devices involved anyone in the school district.
