Whitehall Police Investigate Trespassing, Underage Drinking at Country Club

Trespassing, Underage Drinking at South Hills C.C.

police officers patrolling  property at around 1 a.m. on Thursday deteced noise and other activity coming from the country club grounds, Chief Donald R. Dolfi said.

The officers eventually got the attention of five individuals who were drinking alcohol on the grounds, Dolfi said.

The trespassers ran from police, but officers were able to catch two boys, Dolfi said—a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old.

The boys have both been cited for underage drinking as well as trespassing. They were eventually released to the custody of their parents.

Theft from Vehicle

Whitehall police officers went to the 700 block of Frank Street at around 10:19 p.m. on Thursday for a report that a male in dark clothing was trying to illegally enter a resident's vehicle there, Chief Dolfi said.

The officers made contact with people in the immediate area but were not able to establish enough evidence to accuse anyone of illegally entering the vehicle.

At around 11 the next morning, Whitehall police were told that a wallet was stolen sometime overnight from a vehicle parked in the nearby 700 block of Greenlee Road.

Police are investigating the Greenlee theft and its possible relationship with the Frank incident.

In the stolen wallet was around $150 in cash and a number of gift cards.

No one has been charged with an offense.

Fight Between Brothers in Middle of Southvue Drive

Acting on a tip from a local resident, Whitehall police officers came to the intersection of Southvue and Roberta drives at around 2:02 p.m. on Saturday to find a fist fight between two brothers.

The boys, aged 15 and 17 years, were arguing over a bicycle, Dolfi said.

Once the boys were separated, the officers took them to the Whitehall police station and reunited them with their mother.

Both boys have been cited for disorderly conduct.

Theft at 1725 Skyline

Whitehall police went to an apartment in the 1725 Skyline Dr. building of the  area at around 11:32 a.m. on Wednesday after a tenant and his roommate said that someone had stolen their TV valued at $220.

The roommates said that the TV was stolen on either July 14 or 15, Dolfi said, when they were gone from the building.

Police found no signs of forced entry, Dolfi said, but the residents assured officers that their apartment was locked.

The incident is under investigation.

Another Theft at 1725 Skyline

Also on Wednesday, at 12:08 a.m., another resident of 1725 Skyline reported to Whitehall police that a collection of coins valued at $50 and a number of jewelry items were missing from her apartment.

The resident said that she discovered the items missing at around 11:20 the night before.

Police found no signs of forced entry, Dolfi said, but the resident assured officers that her apartment was locked.

This incident is under investigation, as well.

Harassment Charge on Skyline

Whitehall police came to an apartment in the 1680 Skyline building at around 2:22 a.m. on Wednesday for a report of a disturbance.

When officers arrived, they learned that a confrontation between two people had grown violent, Dolfi said, and that one of the people had struck the other one before leaving the scene.

The victim refused medical treatment, but the person who left the scene was identified as Joshua Malter, 28, of 3 Lutz Hollow Rd. in West Mifflin Borough.

Police have charged Malter with harassment.

Bike Missing from Delma Drive

A resident from the 4600 block of Delma Drive told Whitehall police at around 11:34 a.m. on Sunday that a burnt orange 18-inch boys BMX bicycle was stolen from his or her property sometime between 9:30 and 11:30 that morning.

The bicycle, valued at around $100, was last seen resting near the side of the resident's home.

Officers checked the immediate area and interviewed neighbors but did not turn up any leads. The incident is under investigation.
