Whitehall Swimming Pool Opening Delayed
Find out here when the borough's new pool is expected to open.

WHITEHALL, PA — The upcoming Memorial Day weekend traditionally is a time for many community swimming pools to open for the summer, but that won't be the case with Whitehall's new pool.
Borough officials have announced the still under-construction pool won't be completed until at least July 6. In a letter to residents, they blamed the delay on the pool project's general contractor and its subcontractors and hinted that the borough could pursue litigation over the matter.
"While this is not the news (people) had hoped for, this should not diminish the excitement of the addition of a brand-new state of the art swimming pool to Whitehall," the letter stated. "Current residents will have a modern amenity to enjoy and it hopefully will attract new residents to choose Whitehall to live and raise their families."

The pool will include a double-flume slide, climbing wall, spray features in the zero-depth entry and a shaded baby pool. A separate activity pool will allow for simultaneous adult activities while children enjoy the new water features.
Information on the refunding of pool passes, water aerobics and swim lessons will be addressed in subsequent posts on the borough website and on social media. Amendments to the pool pass pricing structure will be discussed at the June 7 council meeting.
