• Juvenile allegedly stabbed, struck victim with bat in Franklin County (abc27.com) — State police located a juvenile stabbing suspect in Bedford after Washington Township officers pinged the youth’s cell phone following a violent attack in Franklin County. The teen allegedly stabbed a neighbor multiple times, struck them with a baseball bat, stole a vehicle, and tried to run from troopers before being arrested and taken to Franklin County Jail.
   

• Donald Raye Shaffer, Jr. 1947-2025 (fcfreepresspa.com) — Bedford County readers may wish to note the passing of Donald Raye Shaffer Jr., who was born in Everett in 1947 and later lived in Shippensburg. A U.S. Air Force veteran and longtime handyman, he will be laid to rest at a graveside service in Shippensburg on Thursday, December 18, 2025, with military honors.
