15 Apps Bucks Co. Police Want Parents To Know About
Authorities said parents need to remain vigilant in the wake of child predators. Bucks County leads the state in arrests.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Snapchat, TikTok, and KIK are among 15 social apps Bucks County authorities are warning parents about in the wake of a crackdown on child predators.
Bucks County is leading the state in arrests and prosecutions of Internet Crimes Against Children, authorities said.
Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn made that statement during a recent press conference in which Bensalem Police announced that 17 men have been charged so far this year for sex crimes against children.

Over the past three years, Bensalem Police have made 49 arrests related to child predators who have had unlawful contact with minors and other related offenses, including child pornography.
During the press conference between the Bensalem Township Police Department and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, authorities also discussed community education initiatives and steps parents can take to help protect their children from online predators.

“Our police officers are dedicated to tracking down offenders who use technology to exploit children. There are no jurisdictional boundaries for child predators; they can victimize our children from anywhere," Bensalem Public Safety Director William McVey said.
Authorities were also encouraging parents to stay vigilant about their children’s internet use, monitor online communications, and report any suspicious behavior to law enforcement immediately.
"There is no more worthy cause than protecting our children," Schorn said.

McVey said Bensalem Police work with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, and the FBI to track down child predators.
