20-Month-Old Drowns in Pool

Family members and police were unsuccessful in trying to revive the child.

On June 30 at 2:45 p.m., Bensalem police responded to 4400 block of E. Yates Road for a reported drowning.

Upon arrival a teen resident was attempting to resuscitate her 20 month old brother. Bensalem Police Officer Dave Marshall and Detective Adam Kolman took custody of the infant and attempted to resuscitate him while they met Bensalem paramedics on the Street. 

The infant was transported to Aria Torresdale Hospital where he later died.

Investigation found that the child was in the care of family members but walked out of the room and into another room where an indoor pool was located. The infant accidentally fell into the pool and was found by his aunt. It appears that one family member believed the infant had walked into another room where other family members were located. It is unknown how long the infant was in the pool.

The case remains under investigation by the Bensalem Police Special Victims Unit.
