3 More Dead From Coronavirus In Bucks County

The three deaths reported Sunday were women in their 80s and 90s, according to Bucks County health officials.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Three women in their 80s and 90s died in Bucks County from the new coronavirus on Sunday, bringing the county's death toll from the virus to 17.

Meanwhile, 55 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Bucks, bringing the total here to 634.

According to county health officials, two of the women who died Sunday were in their 90s and the third was in her mid-80s.

Thirty-three people in Bucks County were hospitalized with the coronavirus on Sunday, with 12 of them in critical condition and on ventilators.

The Bucks County Health Department also confirmed that 86 people who tested positive for the virus have recovered and are no longer in isolation.

Dr. David Damsker, director of the department, said new cases are continuing to crop up in places where people are living close to each other, such as nursing homes and other similar facilities. He said there were no new cases Sunday at Bucks County Correctional Facility, where three officers and one inmate tested positive on Friday and Saturday.

All four have been isolated with mild symptoms, Damsker said.

In Pennsylvania, 11,510 positive cases of the coronavirus had been reported as of Sunday morning, including 150 deaths.

Residents of 48 of Bucks County’s 54 municipalities have now tested positive for the virus.
