BENSALEM, PA — A Bensalem man who threw a fire-bomb into his ex-girlfriend's home on Christmas Day in 2018 is on his way to prison.

Andrew Bailey, 20, pleaded guilty this week to counts of arson, aggravated assault, conspiracy, witness intimidation and recklessly endangering another person. He admitted that he threw a flaming jar containing a cloth and gasoline into the Bristol Pike home in the middle of the night.

He also admitted to simple assault, strangulation and harassment in an incident a month earlier when he struck and choked the same victim.

Judge Brian T. McGuffin accepted Bailey's plea and sentenced him to 5-11 years behind bars. As part of his plea deal, attempted murder charges were dropped.

According to police, the victim's father said he woke up around 2 a.m. on Dec. 25, 2018, to the sound of breaking glass. He went downstairs where he found the front window broken, the house filling with smoke and a hammer and a jar filled with gasoline on the living room floor.
