Bensalem Firefighter Killed in I-95 Crash

A former member of the Eddington Fire Company has been identified as the motorcyclist that died in a fatal crash that halted traffic on northbound I-95 for more than four hours Wednesday afternoon.

James Curran, 46, was a member of the Eddington station number 28 for ten years in the 1990s, according to a posting on the fire company's Facebook page. 

"His dad has been involved with Eddington Fire Company since 1985," the posting says. "Jim Sr. has endured numerous family member losses within the past few years and we really don't know how he keeps going. Please keep both Jims in your prayers."

Between 10 a.m. and and 3 p.m., Pennsylvania State Police cars blocked access to northbound I-95 at exit 40, diverting traffic onto route 413 in Bristol Township.

According to 6ABC.com, Curran had slowed down his motorcycle because of heavy traffic and was struck from behind by a car. The report says the driver of the vehicle was unharmed.
