Bensalem HS Student Receives Commendation From National Merit Scholarship Corporation
He is one of 34,000 commended students across the country who have been recognized for their academic promise.

BENSALEM, PA — A Bensalem High School senior has been named a "Commended Student" by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
Ali Z. Ahmad is one of 34,000 students around the country to be selected for this honor based on "exceptional academic promise" shown in their Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test scores.
While Ahmad won't continue in the competition for a National Merit Scholarship, he placed among the top 50,000 high school students taking the test.

Ahmad has been a principal’s list honor roll student throughout high school, according to a news release.
He is a member of Team 5401: FIRST Robotics, Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science, National Honor Society, Mathletes, and the Tennis Team. His hobbies include programming, gardening, exercising, reading, and playing video games.

Ahmad plans to dual major in computer science and physics. His goal is to become a quantum computer scientist, and then a politician.
Bensalem High School senior Kathleen P. Ho was honored last week as the only student in the district to be named a semifinalist. She could qualify for one of the scholarship awards in the spring.
