$3.5 Million In State Grants Doled Out In Lower Bucks Co.

State Sen. Frank Farry has secured the state grants for numerous improvement projects next year.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Numerous improvement projects will take place next year, with over $6 million going to several communities in Lower Bucks County.

State Sen. Frank Farry (R-Bucks) announced the state funding for community development and infrastructure projects across Bucks County. The grants were awarded through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Act 13 Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program and the Local Share Account (LSA) Program, which reinvests gaming revenues into local communities.

“These grants are a major win for Bucks County,” Farry said. “They support critical upgrades to public safety, recreation, infrastructure, and accessibility, ensuring our communities continue to thrive and meet the needs of residents.”

The grants are for recreation projects, lighting, park improvements, library upgrades, and playground revitalization projects.

  • Hulmeville Borough Recreation Field – Funding will support improvements to the Hulmeville Borough Recreation Field to enhance community access and recreational opportunities. – $189,480
  • Penndel Memorial Park Walking Trail – Funds will be used to construct a walking trail at Penndel Memorial Park, promoting health and wellness for residents. – $170,000
  • Bensalem Township, Robert Yezzi Memorial Park Field Improvements – Upgrades to lighting infrastructure at baseball and softball fields to better serve youth leagues. – $679,709
  • Bensalem, Holy Ghost Preparatory School Campus Lighting – Installation of exterior lighting to improve safety for students and event attendees. – $500,000
  • Ivyland Borough, Ivyland Borough Park Improvements – Pedestrian safety enhancements including crosswalks, ADA ramps, and park connectivity upgrades. – $246,759
  • Langhorne Borough, Mayors’ Playground Revitalization –Upgrades to Mayors’ playground and park infrastructure. – $315,000
  • Lower Southampton Township, Lower Southampton Township Library HVAC Replacement – Replacement of aging HVAC units to improve energy efficiency and comfort. – $142,500
  • Lower Southampton and Middletown Townships, Automatic Water Meter Reading Systems – Modernization of water meters in Lower Southampton and Middletown townships for improved efficiency. – $140,860
  • Middletown Township, Middletown Township Municipal Center Roof Replacement – Roof replacement and interior restoration to address severe leaks and damage. – $566,640
  • Upper Southampton Township, Upper Southampton Municipal Authority Towable Generator – Emergency generator purchase for water and sewer infrastructure. – $145,000
  • Upper Southampton Township Police & Administration Building Improvements – Replacement of windows and doors with ADA-compliant upgrades for safety and efficiency. – $194,103
  • Rescue Tools for Southampton Fire Company No. 1 – Acquisition of modern rescue equipment to improve emergency response capabilities. – $159,452
  • Upper Southampton Community Center Window and Door Replacement – Renovation of outdated windows and doors to improve insulation and security. – $56,239
  • Bucks County Coroner's Office Electric Stretcher – Purchase and installation of electric stretchers to improve safety and efficiency for coroner staff. – $114,673

The Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program funds projects involving development, rehabilitation and improvements to public parks, recreation areas, greenways, trails and river conservation. The grants are funded through the Marcellus Shale Fund, which was created by Act 13 of 2012.

The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, which administers many of Pennsylvania’s economic development and community improvement programs.

State Sen. Frank Farry represents the communities of Bensalem, Lower Southampton, Middletown, Northampton, Upper Southampton, Warminster, Warrington, Warwick, and Wrightstown townships, and Hulmeville, Ivyland, Langhorne, Langhorne Manor, and Penndel boroughs.
