Bensalem Is One Of The Most Diverse School Districts In The U.S., Latest Data Says

BENSALEM, PA — Niche, a Pittsburgh-based data compiler that offers "best of" lists on top schools and communities, released several comprehensive lists of national and local school rankings this week.

The Bensalem Township School District was named the #25 most diverse school district in America. In Pennsylvania, Bensalem clocks in at number two.

According to Niche's data, Bensalem's students are 50 percent white, 20.2 percent Hispanic, 13.3 percent Asian, 12.9 percent African American, 3.2 percent multiracial, and .3 percent Native American.

Bensalem is the most diverse school district in Bucks County, per Niche's rankings.

"I LOVE that our District has such a diverse community to help show that together we can all succeed!" one parent wrote in a testimony posted to the Reviews section. "The love and compassion that the teachers and staff have for the children is ABOVE and BEYOND! I know that my children are going to learn in a safe and caring environment every day!"

Niche also gives schools and school districts report cards, which look at performance data in the categories of academics, teachers, clubs and activities, diversity, college prep, and health and safety. Bensalem received the following scores:

• Academics: B-
• Teachers: B-
• Clubs & Activities: A
• Diversity: A+
• College Prep: A-
• Health & Safety: B+

Bensalem Township School District, ranked #194 in the state's best public schools, has 6,462 students in grades K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 16 to 1. According to state test scores, 37 percent of students are at least proficient in math and 53 percent in reading.
