Bensalem Police Officer Earns 2022 ‘Officer Of The Year’ Award
The officer's proactive policing, community engagement, PAL events participation and performance earned him the accolade, officials said.
BENSALEM, PA - The Bensalem Police Department has awarded its annual accolade to one patrol officer who stands out above the rest, officials said.
Officer Steve Ambs was presented with the 2022 Bensalem Township Police Officer of the Year award at a ceremony at the Bensalem Township Council meeting on Monday, March 27, 2023.
“Officer Ambs' proactive policing, community involvement, participation in PAL events and his overall outstanding performance earned him this prestigious award,” the police department said.

Ambs is a member of the Bensalem Police Department’s S.W.A.T Team and Honor Guard; he also serves as a field training officer for new hires and is a treasurer of the local PBA union, per his LinkedIn page.
Ambs joined the Bensalem Police Department in 2018; before that, he worked at Green Valley Country Club and Continental Refrigeration. He graduated from Ursinus College with a bachelor’s degree in business, management and marketing in 2016, earning his MBA from Holy Family University in 2021.

Ambs is also a volunteer fireman for the Lincoln Fire Company and coaches youth lacrosse, football and basketball, according to LinkedIn.
